Message from the Chairman As your Chairman, it is my pleasure to lead the Salem County Democratic Party. We are proud of the accomplishments of our Democratic Elected Officials in Salem County. Members of our Democratic-controlled Freeholder Board have been good stewards of taxpayer money, evident by the lowest county tax rate in a decade. They have supported farmland preservation and open space with over 26,000 acres preserved to date. Our Democratic Freeholders have created jobs and ratable growth with the Gateway Industrial Business Park in Oldmans Township. They have truly honored our veterans, protected our environment and taken steps toward consolidation and shared services to save taxpayer money and reduce the size of county government. No matter where you stand on politics statewide and nationally, you should know that in Salem County, the Democratic Party is the party that is moving Salem County in the right direction!
